AKO Pinch valves replace Butterfly Valves and Knife gate Valves due to product build up, resulting in the valves not sealing.
Pinch Valves have now been in successful operation for 40-50 years.
A company making metal rope have been using AKO Pinch Valves for acid water within their application. They take steel rods from mills and turn it into wire using a heat treatment process. The wire is then turned into metal rope which is used on ships, bridges, oil rigs and football stadiums. This particular company used their rope to build part of the Olympic Stadium.
The DN150 Pinch Valve is used to flush out the acidic waste water from the plant.
VF model, air operated, aluminium body, aluminium flanges PN10/16 with mild steel bushings, natural rubber sleeve.

Valves for Acid Water Sleeve Lifetime
This metal wire/rope manipulating company have been using Pinch Valves for acid water for 40-50 years. They were originally having problems with the build up of product when using butterfly valves and knife gate valves, as they would not seal. This is why they changed to using Pinch Valves which they are a lot happier with.
The rubber sleeve (M150.03X) inside the AKO Pinch Valve has not yet needed to be replaced, but it is estimated that the lifetime of the sleeve will be 10+ years due to the application details.
When the time comes for the rubber sleeve inside the valve for acid water to be replaced, a fitting kit can be used. This consists of a mounting pipe, a piece of mounting wood, a pot of lubricant paste, and assembling nuts and bolts.
